Corner Studios Upcoming Spring Recital

The Spring recital is on its way and all of my students have been carefully preparing to showcase their talents. I am excited to present two new young students this year and an established student presenting an original composition. It's important to keep all scheduled lessons so final preparations can be as relaxed as possible. Proper practice is essential to success.
Here are the details for the recital: 
Date: May 24, 2019
Time: 5:30 pm
Place: Metropolitan Ballet of Tacoma Studio,  5435 South Tacoma Way, Suite A, Tacoma, WA 98409

Free parking is available on South Tacoma Way or in the alley behind the building. Paid parking is available in the Starbucks parking lot across form 56th St. S. The performance is concert dress, please no jeans or sweats. I'm working on a digital sign-up sheet to help with desserts. A link will be available when it's ready. Here are some tips for newer students:

• Get adequate sleep the night before recital.
• Arrive early to acclimate to the piano and avoid the anxiety of rushing in late.
• Stay hydrated
• Timed breathing (4 counts slowly in and out) will help calm nerves and help your body slow the production of adrenaline.
• Wait for hands to stop shaking before playing. Once your body gets used to the adrenaline, it will normalize. It's okay to shake out your hands before you play and sit for a moment. 
• Practice playing your song for friends and family and with lots of distractions. This will help your focus.
• Mistakes can and will happen, stay as relaxed as possible and take a deep breathe. Focus on the music still left to play and KEEP GOING! 
• Relax and know that everybody wants you to do well and is feeling exactly the same way you are.
