Critical Information for MAPs Participants

The Music Artistry Program (MAPs) will be held on March 17th between 11:10 am and 1 pm. Each student should have already received their individual performance time and will receive reminder information at lessons this week. The dress etiquette for adjudications is concert dress (young men:dark or khaki slacks with button up shirt and tie/bowtie. Young women: skirts or dresses encouraged or dressy slacks with button up blouse. Dress shoes for both. No jeans/no tennis shoes.)

Please have student(s) arrive 15-20 minutes before their assigned time. There are no late entries. Once my student registration form is entered with the visiting chair, I cannot alter it. Please make every effort to be there on time with original copies of the student's music. I have original copies of most of the student's music. Contact me if you have questions about your individual student. I will be present for each performance.
The venue for MAPs is at Prossers Piano & Organ, 5849 Tacoma Mall Blvd #A, Tacoma, WA 98409. The business park where Prossers is located is north of Ted Brown's Music and south of the freeway entrance on 56th St.
Please check in with your student and encourage them if they are still struggling with memorization. Please encourage them to play for friends and family and have a mock recital to help prepare them for performance. Have them practice introducing themselves and the pieces they're playing. I want to make this a very positive experience for all my students. Since this is the first time each of them have participated, nerves are running high. Please re-assure them that this really is on opportunity for growth and that they should just focus on presenting their hard work and effort they've put in.
