When the weather starts to chill and school calendars show up in the mail, I know it's time for piano to start up again. This year, though, my youngest graduated from high school. Instead of school calendars, I'm prepping for his dorm room at college. I, too, have started college in a graduate program at Hollins University that began over this summer. It was six weeks of Children's Literature bootcamp! I expected it to be hard, but it was demanding in a way that couldn't be anticipated. I felt myself stretched emotionally, physically and spiritually. It's going to make me a better person and, hopefully, a better artist. Whether I'm playing music, drawing illustrations, or writing stories, it all comes from a place of wonder, and I'm so excited to share that with me students. Here's to a wonderful year of learning and growing! Comments are closed.
